Kimberly Weaver: Director of Operations and Marketing

How long have you been working at the Montana Scene?

I’ve been working at The Montana Scene for a little bit more than two years. I’ve known the owners since 2011 and it’s always had a special place in my heart.

If you could choose one person to meet that you have never met before, who would it be?

Cheryl Strayed, the author of Wild. I’ve been a fan of hers since her first novel, Torch. Her memoir, Wild is one of my favorite books and I even have a quote from the book tattooed on my arm, “And so I chose to tell myself a different story.” I’ve also taken my original copy of Wild with me on most hiking trips from the bottom of the Grand Canyon to the top of the Highline Loop in Glacier National Park.

What’s the most recent app you’ve downloaded? Why?

Zola! I’m planning a wedding and that app is a must.

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be?

Dark green. Green has always been my favorite color, but the shade has changed over the years.

What is your favorite binge-worthy show right now?

I’ve been binging “Working Moms” on Netflix. So, so funny!

What is your favorite book?

Can I have eight? All of the Harry Potter books are my favorite. I’ve re-read them each year basically since they were released. They are very nostalgic and feel like home. As an adult, a new favorite is Wild by Cheryl Strayed. The vulnerability in Strayed’s words pulls you in from the first page.

What five people would you have over for dinner if you could (dead or alive)?

Cheryl Strayed, JK Rowling, Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Gilbert, and my Mom!

What was the last picture you took on your phone?

I took this picture of my parents dog Cooper. He is a 9-year-old golden retriever and so cute! He's also a little wild and crazy, but that's why we love him.

If you were given a one-minute ad slot during the Super Bowl that you couldn’t sell, what would you fill it with?

Videos of kids and babies with their pets. You can’t watch a baby and a cat snuggling or a kid and her dog playing together and not smile.

Would you ever be on a reality TV show? If so, what?

If I could be the backup bartender on Bachelor in Paradise with Wells, that would be amazing. I don’t want to be on the dating show to actually date...I want to just watch all the drama from close up.

Are you a cat person or a dog person? Both? Why?

I’m definitely both. I’ve been a cat mom for the last eight years to two 16+ pound fur balls. I also always had a dog growing up and can’t wait until I can have a dog again.

What type of music do you listen to?

I used to listen to more music. Now, I have a few favorites and I listen to them over and over again. I listen to Tegan & Sara every single day. I’m a huge fan of their entire music library. I also am a huge Taylor Swift fan. Her songwriting is really unparalleled.

What was your first impression of The Montana Scene?

That I loved their smoothies (the Bigfork location serves coffee and drinks)! When I was in middle school, it was my first stop after getting out of school. Back then, the Bigfork store was their first and only location and I still remember Sean and Melissa were so kind to me! I also bought a new shirt almost every time I went in.

If you could choose one person to meet that you have never met before who would it be (dead or alive)?

Charlotte Bronte. I studied the Bronte sisters a significant amount in college and since then, have been obsessed with their writing. Jane Eyre is one of my favorite novels to critique! It would be amazing to learn more about her life!

What’s the most recent app you’ve downloaded? Why?

Airbnb. I am planning a trip to Pittsburg with some friends of mine so we can go watch a Steeler’s football game. I’m not a huge football fan, but I won’t say no to the experience!

What is your favorite movie? Why?

Movie or movie(s)?? I love all of the Marvel movies and some of my favorite memories are going to the premiers with my friends and experiencing them at different locations throughout Montana.

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?

I’m always jealous of my cats. They sleep nearly 16 hours a day and only get up when it’s time to eat. They’re also very sassy animals that decide when they want to be pet and loved, and when they don’t… they simply saunter away. I’m basically already a cat but don’t have the luxury of sleeping all day.

What is your favorite binge-worthy show right now?

I watched Friends for the first time this summer and ever since have been watching it over and over and over. I don’t know when or if it will ever end for me!

How long have you been working at The Montana Scene?

Somewhere around two years. Since the summer after my sophomore year of college, I’ve come back each summer to work at the Bigfork location. Now, I’m here permanently working as the warehouse assistant and for The Montana Scene Business Journal.

What’s the best thing to happen since you started working at The Montana Scene?

The opportunity I’ve been given to design and write for The Montana Scene Business Journal. I love meeting and interviewing new people and the designing is the icing on the cake!

What is your favorite book?

I recently read The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls and LOVED it.  I was extremely impressed with the complexity of the father figure and the father and daughter relationship. It’s a book worth reading, sharing, and discussing with friends!

What is your favorite food to cook?

You can ask anyone who knows me personally and they’ll all agree I’m obsessed with Mac and Cheese. It’s the only food I enjoy making because it’s easy and with some salt and pepper, my absolute favorite “meal.”

Would you ever be on a reality TV show? If so, what?

The Challenge! I don’t know how I would do, but I’d love to challenge myself both physically and mentally. I have no doubt it would be extremely stressful, but 100% worth the experience.

Thank you for following us each week! We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more fun facts about employees in the future!
